Amarnath Yatra Opening Date

Amarnath yatra 2019 is scheduled to begin from 1st  July in the year 2019. Like every year the swarm of followers will further scale a lot of hurdles to meet their beloved Shiva this year too with a very small change. Unlike 208, this year’s Amarnath yatra will last for 46 days. The official announcement was made on 7th March 2019 for the same and the Amarnath Yatra opening date will commence from 1st  April 2019. This year 7500 pilgrims will be permitted to march on both of the routes that are 7500 each on both of the routes.

Route of Amarnath Yatra

There are two routes for the Holy Cave Amarnath. First one, which is also the longest one is Pahalgam Route. This Route links to this annual pilgrimage to the historical routes.  At the same time, it is also believed that the Yatris of this route retraces the holy footsteps of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. To scale this trek Yatris are expected to travel 45 km long journey from Pahalgam to the Amarnath cave. The actual trekking experience starts from Chandanwari as the initial stretch of 15 km can also be covered in two-hour long drive.

Now let’s move to the alternative which is mostly man-made. The Second Route which starts from Baltal which takes just 24 hours to reach the Amarnath Cave. It is just 14km long. This Route The route from Baltal to Pahalgam comes with various connecting trails where Yatris will pass through Sonmarg and Anantnag to reach the cave.

Usually, most of the Yatris pick the ancient Pahalgam route as it is wider and enough places are available to walk or to ride ponies. While It’s completely Individual choice but the best route which can make this Trek truly a rich experience is- A Yatri can take the ascending route through the Pahalgam and come back through the Baltal Trek.

How to reach Amarnath

Srinagar is the closest airport for Yatris coming from the different parts of the world. If you want to follow the train route then Jammu is the closest railway proximity. Helicopter Services are also provided to people with very reasonable charges. Apart from there are multiple help centers available from the Railways station and Airport where you can get complete information about the Amarnath Yatra 2019.

Your Physical fitness is very important as the Mahagunus Pass comes all along in the way to Holy cave which is situated at the altitude of 14,000 ft. Don’t try to make this attempt if you have breathing or cardiovascular issues as it can be fatal. In fact, in order to ensure further safety submitting a CHC (Compulsory Health Certificate) is mandatory for all prospective Yatris. Stick to the allotted dates and schedules and in any case avoid flouting the rules and guidelines. During the trek sessions kindly maintain the discipline and advance in a slow and steady manner.
