Route of Amarnath Yatra
There are two routes for the Holy Cave Amarnath. First one, which is also the longest one is Pahalgam Route. This Route links to this annual pilgrimage to the historical routes. At the same time, it is also believed that the Yatris of this route retraces the holy footsteps of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. To scale this trek Yatris are expected to travel 45 km long journey from Pahalgam to the Amarnath cave. The actual trekking experience starts from Chandanwari as the initial stretch of 15 km can also be covered in two-hour long drive.
Now let’s move to the alternative which is mostly man-made. The Second Route which starts from Baltal which takes just 24 hours to reach the Amarnath Cave. It is just 14km long. This Route The route from Baltal to Pahalgam comes with various connecting trails where Yatris will pass through Sonmarg and Anantnag to reach the cave.
Usually, most of the Yatris pick the ancient Pahalgam route as it is wider and enough places are available to walk or to ride ponies. How to reach Amarnath
Srinagar is the closest airport for Yatris coming from the different parts of the world. If you want to follow the train route then Jammu is the closest railway proximity. Your Physical fitness is very important as the Mahagunus Pass comes all along in the way to Holy cave which is situated at the altitude of 14,000 ft.
